Its role is to develop the creative activities and research relating to arts, languages, literatures and ages of Spain and Iberian world, of contributing to the training of teacher-researchers, artists, and of taking part in the development of the artistic exchanges and scientists between France and Iberian countries.
Within the “Ecole de Hautes Etudes Hispaniques” (Science section) it generally accommodates 18 researchers (archaeologists, historians, geographers, arts persons, linguists, sociologists, economists). In parallel, it receives, in its artistic Section, 13 artists (painters, sculptors, engravers, architects, type-setters, scenario writers, photographers).
