The objective of this workpackage is :

to integrate the history of slavery into the history of European nations through structured historical investigation that involves relating trafficking in people to political jurisdictions and movements across religious frontiers.

The study we propose will be articulated within the long historical duration (11th - 16th centuries) and a territorial expanse extended to the known world system of medieval and modern Europe.
